Small, Book project

A short illustrated book reflecting on the experience of feeling small and unimpactful within our physical environment and the world at large, and our ability to find both comfort and distance in our surroundings. The book employs visual methods to show acceptance through the gradual increase in the occurrence of warm colour throughout the book, culminating in a full double page of warm inviting colour at the end.

"Beanbugs" Product Concept

My final year project "BeanBugs" is a humorous, climate conversation focused product concept, a large unignorable bag charm, the opposite of understated, a travel companion that accompanies you in the absence of actual wildlife. The idea behind the project was biodiversity loss, using a brightly coloured creature and highly climate sensitive species to serve as the vehicle for commentary on the state of our natural environment; a commentary that employs the irony of a loud accessory that contrasts with our current context wherein vibrancy and diversity is quietly disappearing.

A full immersive experience, with art and immersive media design by Madeleine Horrigan and music composition by Mo Zhou (https://www.instagram.com/mo_zhou_music/).

The project features a large 4 by 8 foot illustration-style standee wooden sculpture, surrounded by a hand illustrated animated backdrop, a multi-layered digital watercolour hybrid mural constructed in Photoshop and Premier pro. The purpose of the project was to create relatable scenery to create empathy with our microenvironment by creating an environment in which we are reduced to the size of these microlandscapes.

A short illustrated project comprised of monoprint animals, created to comment on a range of modern issues our environment faces, some of which we see daily.

Project took over 4 weeks to complete, with many iterations and print medium adjustments, before being constructed in photoshop and indesign as a finished booklet/zine.

New Designers London | Degree Show Branding Concept: NTU BA Illustration Mascot

A set of branding concept items for the BA Illustration degree shows at NTU Design and Digital arts and New Designers London. Designed to represent the cohort as a whole, I drew on our community of creative attitudes and love for creating retail-ready products to inspire a set of logos, seen here in the form of ideation, and final presentation of the designs as used by staff at NTU.
